6.5 components ??

ahh i got ya , i was doing it backwards lol.wonder if the large magnet would fit through the hole. but its very shallow the factory basket its self is right at the window and the basket measures 2 inches. i think the maximum is 2 1/8.

These are great. I installed a set of these along with the matching coaxial ZRS 6x9's in an intrepid and it sounds like a helluva lot more than the 130 or so bucks that went into all four speakers. Good pick.
those seem like they will fit to, so far ive only found 2 places that have them, and i cant get either one on the phone.

Good luck with that, lol... I swear I found the only pair on the whole freaking net the night that I ordered them. I had to order them on Amazon but they came from wooferetc.com. I tried to order them from woofersetc.com itself and EVERYWHERE else that they were sold, but all the sites kept saying they were out of stock... it was weird. I was trying to order them from anywhere other than through amazon (to no avail) because the shipping was ridiculous, like 20 odd dollars. When I finally ordered them from amazon that night(about three weeks ago) they had it listed as the last set. I'm sure there are more out there somewhere.

well i think im just gona run coaxial speakers, in the doors and rear deck and just put the components in a kick panel. then no worries about size.

You won't get very much midbass out of your component set in the kick panel.

The motor on that component set has a smaller diameter than the cutout, which is probably within .5" of the factory cutout. With MDF spacers(you can buy them from people here for $5-10 shipped for a pair, maybe even less if you catch someone having a good day), they'll fit for sure. You'll be muuuuuuuuuuuuch happier with their performance than with a pair of coaxials and an extra set of components in a less than optimal setup.

I'm sorry if I'm sounding pushy; I'm just trying to give you advice that will serve you well. As long as you understand that doing what you want to do will cost you more money, more time, more effort, less SQ, and less performance, I'm fine with whatever you want to do. It's your vehicle, so do what you want.

not at all im thankful for the advice, its been a good 15 years since ive been into car audio, and things have changed from then. back then around here anyways if you was the big dog on the block you had the mb quart or the orion components, i had the mb lol. and after i posted that i dug into the site reading up and i was just about to post that i guess id put the effort in and forget the kick panel lol. but you beat me to it. things was so much easier when there was only like 5 brands to chose from lol. although i did see a good looking pair of orion for 99 shipped.

TAKE A LOOK AT THE CLASSIFIEDS/SPEAKERS..Tallc has a set of Massive components for $65 plus shipping..i got a pair a while back, and couldnt be happier with them.sound great, and for under $100? for some fantastic set of speakers.check those out..components will sound 3 times better than co-axials. i mean if you are going to do it once and do it right..components are the way to go,and i recommend amp powered as well to get the most out of the speakers.
