alright so I have a '92 Lexus SC300 (go figure)

let me just tell you, this car is a nightmare to work on

anyway, I bought a pair of 6.5" Diamond Audio hex series, stock speaker fit is a 4" - have talked to a few people and went to a shop, due to the location of speaker, fitting a 6.5" is near impossible

I have also looked into fiberglass for pods but I still have the same problem

any suggestions for a pair of 4" components?

amp is rated at 200 x 2 @4ohm

dude, your car looks like a nightmare. i still think you can fit some 6.5's in the kicks. you need to try yo make this work because you want be satisfied with a 4" component. you'll be playing your sub above a 100hz to cover the lack of midbass coming out of those 4' speakers. take a pic of your kick-panels and post it.

How about a compromise.... 5.25"... I use that size anyway... they tend to have better off-axis dispersion and sound livelier... and you can get moderate midbass out of them... much better than a 4".

cmon its a 92, be creative, fab somethin up, it'll look fine //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

j/w how many miles u got on that bad boy

110k, just had power steering hose replaced, but other than that I've had no problems whatsoever

gonna throw some 6000k HID's and 4300k fogs soon, and new exhaust system

plenty of mods coming

Bottom of the doors is a good idea.

Don't know why you are worried about stock look with all the mods you are making. Anyway, you could always leave a grill with matching grill cloth over it, or re-carpet the bottom at trade-in time.

Agreed. Looks like enough room at the bottom of the door for you to fab a door pod for you speakers out of MDF and cover it in the same color vinyl thats in your car. Would not be too hard, and def sound a lot better than a set of 4" comps
