5x7 Components

I need some of these (5x7 components) for my front stage. I'm prob going with 5x7 coax for rear stage. (Ford crew cab truck, 5x7's front and back).

The only ones I can find are from JL and at $480+shipping (e-bay), they are a little too rich for my blood.

Does anyone know of any other ones?

I know Alpine used to make type R's but I can't seem to find them in my area. I don't like the sound from the type S's.

I'd like to keep the interior looking stock to keep the stealthy look.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I'll be giving them either 75rms@4ohm, or 230rms@4ohm.

I'd like to keep my budget around $200, but if i can demo/hear a great set i mite be able to find some more cash.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

yeah man, I did this in my 05 explorer and put 6.5 inch comps in there. I had to cut a couple plastic things off the back of the factory grill, but they didn't really do anything productive and i dont miss them. If you do something like this, you open the door to 6.5 and 5.25 comp sets, which offer alot of variety and cheaper costs, plus round speakers play sound better because ovals distort the waves due some technical thing with more and less flexing at different areas of the oval. Something technical but I beleive its been proved somewhere.

There is nothing wrong with oval midrange/midbass drivers... in fact, the shape can cancel out certain resonance modes/distortion. Trust me, a company like Image Dynamics would not have just come out with high end ovals in their XS line if there was a problem with them.

But realistically, it is much easier to find a deal on a conventional round component system... there are so many of them.
