I had to cut a couple plastic things off the back of the factory grill, but they didn't really do anything productive and i dont miss them. If you do something like this, you open the door to 6.5 and 5.25 comp sets, which offer alot of variety and cheaper costs, plus round speakers play sound better because ovals distort the waves due some technical thing with more and less flexing at different areas of the oval.
