Gorilla Tape works better than duct tape //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
He speaks the truth. Gorilla Tape is the bomb.

im gonna say not im gonna say the only place if you were to round over that you would see any gain and it would only be a tenth or 2 would be the port but then again i could be wrong i think someone needs to do a test and test this theory
I round over every port I do. Adding PVC is the trial and test portion that works most of the time, but not every time.

I wouldn't. Sound waves dont just magically come out the front of ur box. Soundwaves are produced from both sides of the woofer. if u play a sub free air u cant really hear any bass... it needs to be enclosed to the soundwaves can reflect off the inside of the box and project through the sub
I seriously hope this isn't a serious post.

You know what sound waves are, don't you?

They are PRESSURE WAVES, as in AIR PRESSURE WAVES. I don't know about your setup, but the only air that comes from the front of my sub is the air it moves on the outside.

Unless you have holes in your cone? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Any sound waves that you hear otherwise (like a car driving by for instance), is the car resonating or air escaping. Those panels moving are whats producing the sound waves you hear, in conjunction with pressure leaking out of the car through various places.

A sealed box, such as the one you are describing, uses the sealed chamber to help control cone movement and to also tune the frequency response of the enclosure.

WOOT> I was right.

wouldnt the rear wave coming back and striking the cone while it is playing make it produce a slightly out of alignment wave through the cone
Yep, which is why when you build a sealed box it's recommended to line it with polyfill to reduce those waves. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

In all reality it's something that you're not going to really "hear", all that it's really gonna do is make the air wave coming off the front of the sub slightly distorted.

I think this is what some people would refer to as "tight" sounding bass, that is, when the sealed box is properly set up and filled.
