Im looking for suggestions on amp for my alpine 1223d. I would like a SQ stereo amp that can do500w 2ohms bridged or a SQ mono amp that can do 500w at 4 ohms im not against buying oldschool amps.

Just under 500W at 2 ohms bridged, but look at the Boston Acoustics GT2125. Sonic has a good deal on them

Otherwise, you could get 900w at 2 ohms bridged on a Boston GT2200

Just checked the specs and I was selling the 2125 short. Bridged at 2 ohms and 14V, you'd be seeing 600W by CEA specs. At 4 ohms, 400W bridged. For $110, that's a good deal.

I do not fully understand the question. You subwoofer can be wired either for 1ohm or 4ohm impedance. Why do you need 2ohm bridged?

If I was you, I would buy a PPI P600.2. This is a tiny two channel Class D amplifier. In bridged mode, you get 600watts RMS power, with minimum 4ohm impedance. You get 4ohm impedance when you wire the voice coils of 1223d in series.

Good catch. OP, do you have a pair of these or a single one? If it's a pair, then zako's right and you'll need to look at that power given at 4 ohms or 1 ohm.

when i run it on a bridged amp at 4ohms doesnt it change it to 2ohms since its bridged? I only have 1 sub. I havent messed with car stereos for 15 years i thought it used to be that way atleast.

Impedence will be determined by how you wire the subwoofer, has nothing to do with it being bridged or not.. I believe your subwoofer has dual 2 ohm voice coils so it can be wired to 4 ohms or 1 ohm. You are likely going to want to wire it to 4 ohms.

If you are unsure what impedence you are wired at you can check it by using a multimeter on the speaker wire coming from the sub.
