500rms on Alpine Type-r (old model)

im trying to help out a buddy and hes worried about running my amp (hifonics bx500d) with his alpine type-r (4ohm DVC). its the older model type-r which is capale as 300rms/1500 peak as what the manufactuer claims.

would it be perfectly safe to run that 500rms hifonics bx500d amp with the type-r at 1-ohm? (assuming the gains and settings are right and never go past 80% volume)

While I frequented SD there were several threads stating otherwise (proven via bench test as well), but just as on here, there are conflicting reports which is why I posted that.

The tests I saw were around 1300-1400 at 14.4v
