5000 w = amp draw

looking at over 575 amps of draw to achieve 5kw @ 75% effiency

to offset that much draw goign to have a few batts a upgraded alt and alot of 1/0

i usually do 1 kinetik 2400 per 1500 watts , but thats just me, and that is on top of at least a 180 amp alternator made by a reputable company

what kinda electrical do i need in order to make this run properly.......
what are steps do i need to take to get my electrical upgrade
check the MANUAL. what kind of current can the amp draw?

(hint: what is the fusing for it? It won't draw more than that and operate long)

you will need to be able to provide up to that current.

Depends on whether it's a daily setup where the amp is constantly drawing the juice or whether it's something like a burp setup. For a dd you're going to have to look into getting some alternators that can supply that amp with some serious current. You're also going to have to look into getting atleast 4 runs of 1/0 (2 powers and 2 grounds) and multiple bats.
