A routine traffic stop in Russellville on Tuesday night led to the discovery of nearly 500 pounds of marijuana by the Arkansas State Police.

Troopers seized 496 pounds of pot with a street value of $595,000 after pulling over a tour bus for driving on the shoulder on Interstate 40.

The drugs were wrapped in cellophane and inside of a duffle bag that was in the storage area of the bus.

Arrested were Edward Thimas, 52, of Douglasville, Georgia, and Robert Morris, 44, of Thomson, Georgia, co-drivers of the bus.

Troopers say $6,452 in cash was also found in the men's pockets and in a bag on the bus.

The bus was searched after the men gave officers conflicting stories about where they had been and where they were going. Troopers say the men said they had been escorting one rap singer who was no longer on the bus and were going to pick up another rap singer. The men claimed the rappers loaded the drugs onto the bus and told them to call them when they got to Boston.

A good deal on a pound is around 3500-4000 dollars, so 500 lbs would run you around 2 million bucks.
