500-800 Rms needed for 10" type r

Hello, first post lol.

Anyway I have a type R alpine in a ported box in the back of my civic. I have on it a California Profile (ap1200) 1200 watt dual channel amp. I think its a rather nice amp as it says it can do 600 RMS (bridged) which is more than the 500 RMS my 10" can do. However I noticed something.

My gain is 100% up and I hear no distortion or any stress from the sub.(wired to 2 ohms) I can only assume, due to lack of needed equipment, that I am not pushing the full power the amp says it can. So therefore not running my type R the way it should be ran.

I was wanting to know if the Sub was really being ran at its peak power and I need a new sub AND amp (for more bass of course!), or if i could make my type r even better by throwing an amp with "true rms ratings" on it IF(IF!) the AP1200 isnt running its rated power after all.

Of course its up to speculations. But I was wanting to know of, if any, good respectable amps under 250$$ that could run 500-800 REAL rms (past 500 for may future upgrade to type X)

What do you guys think?

I would like to buy from online as I work nightshift and sleep during the day for the most part. So going out isnt conveinent for me. :-/ But hey, you are probably right. I just want to get a good amp for cheap that has that "true wattage rating" stuff everyone throws so much into. I dunno if the AP1200 does what it says it does.

I have heard some new alpines didnt pack as much punch as they used too. not that im saying i wouldnt want to go all Alpine, I have given the idea much thought. I was thinking higher RMS than my type R can handle (500) so i could upgrade down the road maybe to a type X or something that could use a bit more.

Any other amps?

Edit: Power Acoustik PS1-3000D, lol, is this true? Epinions found one for under 200 XD I dont now whether or believe it or not though. Apparently every company lies about wattage.
