5 inch Focal subwoofer?

I was surfing Focal's website, and came across the Focal Utopia 5WS, which is a 5 3/8-inch long-throw subwoofer. I'm considering putting them into the rear fill enclosures in my 300ZX because there is very little space in my car for anything bigger than a sealed 10", and even then I would have to get rid of my spare tire to make room for it.

Has anyone here ever heard them? How do they sound? I'm mostly interested in SQ but I don't want my subwoofers to sound too punchy, have too much mid-bass, or totally without lows. But installing these would save me the cost and inconvenience of having a custom enclosure built in my spare tire well.

Advice, please.

I have heard of the Focal Utopia 5WS before, they impressed me good. I heard them in a Mr-2 though. But ya they are kind of punchy, has some lows, after all they are just 5s. They are decent but unless your absolutely have to go with those or else I would get 10s.

get some jl 6w0 or 6inch punch he's (i hear the jl's dont sound bad for 6 inchers but idk bout the rf's)

The JL 6W0's are great little subs. There is a dealer here that has a demo car with 2 6W0's in a small ported box sounds like a single 10 but you can save your space. Just my 2 cents. And the Focals sound better than the JL's but not worth the price diffrence.

look at some 8" drivers... take a look at a couple Elemental Designs 8A's... small boxes... great output.. in that hatch, should work well fo ryou with a pair of them
