Thanks for all your input!

I will check on Memphis Big Belle and Kicker amps. My leading still is towards Rockford Fosgate and Alpine, however. But if the price is right; I will definitely buy Kicker and Memphis.

I will let you know; after the purchase. Thanks again.

I have several 5 chs right now...including the DEI D2205.5...a Memphis Big Belle...and an Earthquake 900.5 ....the Memphis big belle is the best choice and most efficient out of all listed in this thread.... plus one of the smallest foot prints....

kicker makes kick *** amps, but you should look into the elemental designs nine.5, its discontinued but i know a few people selling there. its 1 ohm stable and does 100x4 @ 4 ohms

i vote fosgate amp if you can get it, the 25 to life is a beast

from a person that does fosgate and kicker everyday and has had both of their biggest "mainstream" amps in my vehicle...fosgate amps are better

weve sold kicker for a while, we do alot of marine stuff on big boats, we wont even do the kicker amps in there anymore because they go into protect to easy, they should of never gotten rid of the fans like the older ones, i could have cooked an egg after 30 secs of playing on my old 2500.1s

Well, I had a talk with someone who though Kicker did not make good amps; so I past on it! I did look at that particular one but for another $100-$150; you can get an Alpine or Rockford - true amp companies; not a second rate company from what my acquaintance calls Kicker.
Do you have a Kicker amp?

Well I had my made up my mind on my choice and guess what?? It on backorder! What is it?

The Alpine PDX-5! Does anyone know when they will be available and where to buy it at a good price and 1 year warranty?

I was so disappointed when I heard from WooferUSA.com and Onlinestereo.com and a couple other online audio gear place that it been backorder for the past 2 months!

They said they would ship everything else right away to me and I told them I would not need any of it without the PDX-5! WooferUSA place my order on hold and I have to get back to them!

What would you do in my situation. I can get it from China but I have to go to the Hong Kong ebay site!

I may just buy the Eclipse XA5000. It not as powerful(50 vs. 75) or new in design but I can get it now! I think Eclipse is discontinuing this unit too! It's 15 3/4 long vs. only 10 1/2"? for the Alpine.

What you do you think?

I say elemental designs 9.5 also, I have one and its pretty nice.

you can find them practically new for $300-$350.It has plenty of power to push any mids, and it will do 600w at 1ohm on the sub channel

I didn't realize that DEI amp was that big.

Hertz HSK front , Coaxial rear

and a hertz hi -energy sub That amp is a beast when it comes to driving a sub woofer .

I did a Yahoo search and did not find anything on the elemental designs 9.5 amp. It must be a few years old since there were no hits on the shopping either.

I will google it later.

Audison quite pricey. That what my installation shop carries and I know they are good; but wow on the price! I scare to even shop for it! But I will do it for fun!

Alpine inform me that the backorders on the pdx-5 will be delivering starting this Monday and within a week's time will be available to all retailers.

I am so excited that I order it locally from an authorized dealer! Now I need to get some speakers too!

So for those who like to get a PDX-5 it less than a week away in some parts.
