5.25"s to keep up with Tumult...

few people hear the type of system your describing audolife, unless we include home audio setups. In car setups usually don't work that way due to the excessive amount of subbage (i made a word up //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif ) and relatively small mids. A truly balanced SQ install is pretty cool to hear though.

my last 4 systems did this. my reply back is why do so many people willingly design a system for less than half their music? and last i knew alot of home audio used the same sized speakers...... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

I never understood the point of massive amounts volume under 60hz when you can't even match half of it in mids or highs. To me sub-bass was always more for fill. I like my bump as much as the next kid, but I can't stand it when someone turns on a song that's like an acoustic guitar that for some reason is shaking the entire vehicle and you can't even really hear the instrument. I can deal without a sub if I have nice components, but not a nice sub with crappy comps.

Well if I could switch over to 6.5"s and go with the XXX's, I really would. I can't put a spacer on my door and cut the door to make it fit because my window handle is right in the way. I would fab up some kicks but I have a clutch, and even with my crazy ways I don't think I could get it to fit. Also, I have the Nine.2, which will give me 100x2@4ohm. I would prefer to keep this amp since UPS just brought it a week ago. I have been looking at some CDT's, but I still dont know which ones would work best. I was browsing and came across the Boston Pro50's. How would these do with 100 watts? I am willing to be someone flexible, and will sell the amp if I have to. Thanks for all the help, all suggestions are welcome.
older cherokee i assume, i have a manual with kicks, it can work

yuh but thing is you rta alot of those subs even though its "tuned to under 60 hz" its a nasty hump that goes an octive higher lol my subs still a tad warm but i really dont wanna waste a few hours tweaking it without an rta. no point in guessing games. alot of people that get steered into a super comp set with power as their first purchase usually end up realizing they dont need 2000 watts of sub bass. 2 of my friends even switched up their subs totally (lol neither of which i heard only seen pics) but one dropped a 12w7 for 2 kicker l7 8's and another dropped a xxx matched with a mmats class d amp to a single id 12v3 off a kicker 600.1. (both are online gaming buddies lol) one bought a set of focal utopias the other mb quart refferences to start out with. what was even more suprising is their tastes in music also changed once they could hear the music propperly (both were into rap as their fav to spanish/ethnic pop/dance type music and the other flipped to trance lol). im not saying one way in necessarily right and the other is wrong im just saying dont limit yourself to what everyone else has especially if you are always changing subs and sub amps maybe its the other end of the spectrum you really dislike. happens alot.
