4ohm DVC wiring...

Hi guys...

new to the forum...nice little forum u guys got here

quick question about configuration of the amp to the sub:

specs:

**amp: 2ohms STABLE, 2 channel.

(options: 130wrms PER CHANNEL @4ohms, or 210wrms per channel @ 2ohms, or 425wrms BRIDGED channels @ 4ohms).

I have it wired so it is 4 OHMS WHEN BRIDGED.

**sub: 4ohm DVC. so either 2ohms(parallel) or 8ohms(series).

so as you can see, they are not matched to each other...

but my question is how safely can i run the sub at 2ohms? ive been running it at 2 ohms for a few days. when i turned the headunit sub control + volume all the way up, the amp went into protection mode once. when keepng sub volume at 0, amp doesnt heat up very much and everything is fine.

also, the amp states it is 2ohms "STABLE", but is this the case when it is bridged like i have it?

i dont wanna run the sub @ 8ohms as it gives next to no power...or is there a better way to wire this?

Cheers,

Sam

thanks. i understand this...

however, over the past few days running at quite high volumes, the amp doesnt get hot...everything seems ok.

only when i turn the headunit bass control to max for a while did it go to protection mode.

my question is...will running this setup cause worse quality? as wiring it up at 8ohm gives very little power.
