Ik the Vs. threads are stupid. But i was wondering if i should get ether one of these amps. Ill be running daily on 2 deka's. Im wondering basically for efficiency. I mostly run daily but i would like to try competing as well. I do not want to upgrade an alternator as my car is dieing and il be getting a new one within a year. What do you guys think?

O i forgot. Ive got two dual 1 aq's so my wiring options are .25, 1, and 4ohm. The 4k2d is only 2 ohm stable so i could do 1ohm for burps but only 4 ohm for daily. Hence the reason im asking.

I think you should just get the 40.1 if you had a good experience with your 20.1. I'm sure those hdc's can handle the power from the 40.1 @1 ohm daily.

I was asking the same thing the other day, but a little different situation my friend. I would think that @4ohm, the stetsom would be more efficient, but it wouldn't put out as much as the 40.1 @1ohm. I'm going by the numbers. Also, the 4k2d has a much smaller footprint, using more efficient parts. In my situation I chose the 40.1, but I too, would like to try the 4k2d's. Both awesome amps. Hell, you can't go wrong with either If you ask me.

4K2 D

Mono 4 Ohms: 3200 Watts 13.8V

Mono 4 Ohms: 2800 Watts 12.6V

Well they were both similar pricing so i was just wondering. Ive also heard that the 40.1 doesnt like .25 ohm. Is this true?

Also, im not worried about the subs taking this kinda power. I just dont know how the amp will perform off of a single 650sq in batt

Surviving .25 will depend on your impeadanc rise and electrical. The 40's are really bulletproof amps and I have seen good numbers. If your going for daily even 1 ohm burps on the 40 will produce good numbers in a comp situation.

Both amps are good so the choice is yours.I would personaly take the 40;)

The rule of thumb that I've heard is the 40.1 will go that low, but don't get it confused with the older 20.1. The older 20.1 was really the "bulletproof" amp so to speak. I would play it safe with the 40.1. That's just me though. To be honest I think with your electrical, I would lean toward the 40.1 as I did.

Well this what I was told if it's any help to you.

I had the big 3, redtop upfront, 200 amp alt and a Kinetik 3800 watt powercell in the back....I was told I had enough power to sustain 3600 watts continuous.....without much drop....help any?
