yea, 2 runs is always better than one. I actually went overboard and put 2/0 welding cable upfront and had virtually no resistance between alt and batt.

can't go wrong with either choice. the 40.1 will burp at .25. i ran a pr strapped at .5 last year. never had a problem with either amp.

The alts only a 105A. Idk how it will hold up. I hope it makes it through this summer

When you add a second amp you actually gain efficiency as a whole for the system. Even though I'm with stetsom getting a second 40.1 isn't a bad idea.

Isn't the 20.1 strapable? if so I would go with a second, higher current capability plus it is easier to mount two separate amps then one large one. Two strapped amps almost always will outpower a single large one of equal power output. But to answer your question the IA40.1 is an awesome amp, sold mine because I needed cash but I ran mine for over a year on a 16V system. On a 12V system a single amp can and will draw well over 500A at times on music and most definately on burps and at .25 ohms, well a single battery won't do it.. Polo.

Yes it is strappable but it is cheaper to go with the 40.1 and if i do compete a lil bit in street A, only 1 amp is allowed. I would be running two deka 31's and a Hawker HX300 in front. Idk where you got the single batt from. DTbrown was gona hook me up and i woulda definatly gone that way if the 4k2d was 1ohm stable.

People have run the 4k2d at 1ohms if their impedance rise is decent. May run into some heat issues or not. I've personally never tested it at 1ohms with music but I know it can do it. Just like any amp that you run below rated impedance, it does put a little more stress on it.

single stetsom 7kd @ .5ohms 4500 watts

40.1 will burp no prob @ .25 with your setup. They burp 4 40.1s at .25 off 1 batt in street classes.

I'd do the 40 @ 1ohm daily and burp .25.

40.1 tough amps. but they don't make them anymore.(nick said they will be coming out with the new 40.1s soon)
