I bought this from a member a while back and was on the CES show driver 5200. The top assembly died and just bought a whole 5200 to replace it. I did notice but this was after I was done using it that there was a couple of cracks in one or two of the magnet rings maybe from shipping but they aren't loose nor does it effect performance. The coolest thing is the threaded ring on it is removeable unlike the newer ones meaning you can remove it and mount directly to a basket of choice. I paid a pretty penny for it but would like to get $125 in my pocket after shipping, PP fees and I will ship it via USPS in a mini crate I have for it. Offers taken... Polo..

do you know if the vc failing had anything to do with the cracks?

It wasn't the coils that failed but the spiders being to soft allowing the tinsels to rip out. The whole sub was a 2005 CES show driver, the spiders were extra soft to allow great excursion with limited amounts of power BUT when I slipped the DD Z1a to it it didn't last, worked fine with the XXX-6500... Funny thing was I didn't know this until I got the new top and noticed how stiff the new spiders were!
