Heres the scenario, unistalled a complete system and now starting over. I will be using the stock alpine OEM navi HU for the source. My budget only allows for a single amp right now, budget around $500. Want a A/B class amp for mids/highs.

I got rid of Polk SR6500 for Boston SPZ60, kept the rear fill Boston SL69.

JL 450/4

150wrms to SPZ60

75 to SL69

NO SUB

or

JL 500/5

100wrms to SPZ60

25 to SL69

250 to IDMAX 12 - I originally planed to sell it, but never sold:( So I decided to keep it.

I know with the 500/5 the sub is only getting 250wrms, and I think it will be fine, I only need the sub for low end fill. I wasn't going to use a sub at all with the rebuild. I know the SPZ60's love power.

The reason why I have choose the JL's is because they can use speaker level inputs, and it's a pretty solid amp, also if I need to get rid of it the resale value is good. I plan to add a processor once I have more funds, or when the new RF 3sixty comes out.

Which would you choose?

get a 300/2, sell the rears and put that money toward a good 1000 watt amp for your IDMAX
Keeping the rears. With TA & proper setup it's not an issue with staging. Heres more background info on what I just removed.

Alpine x100 HU

Alpine pxa-h100 PROCESSOR

Alpine pdx 4.150 & 1.600 amps

Polk sr6500 - FRONT

IDMAX 12

I am moving toward a more simple setup, that's why I got rid of the HU. I had the tweets installed on the door panels. Purchased new door panels ($700:furious:) Will install the spz60 coax style. Just want decent full sound. Don't need 1000wrms sub amp, no need for that much power.
