40hz box for 12'' L7?

if your a spl addict then go ahead but i stronly suggest tunning lower

Agreed. If you will be using this setup for daily driving i really wouldn't recommend it. Remember, your setting your enclosure to be tuned at the pressure level, you will pretty much not get any quality at all.

40hz is a cop-out //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

If you want sq, lose some output and go 35-

If you're going all out spl, go higher, 45+

40's just going to make you sad. I had a 38hz box, and it WAS loud, but not as loud as my friend dave's car with a 48hz box, and he had less power... And it sounded like crap, cause output would just drop off the map when listening to things like sublime, or rock, where you need low freq's to hit drum beats, etc.

It'll be worth the delay in the long run to decide which direction you really want to go, and hold out for the ideal box.

WTF???

Okay, the first thing we need to know is what you WANT TO ACHIEVE with doing such a thing. Sound Quality? Sound Pressure Level (LOUD?)

AND, you have to tell us how much space you are working with. If you can port to 40htz in only 2 cubes, there's no point... If you can do it with 5-7 cubes, then you are talking. I wouldn't port a 15 L7 with less than 4 cubes...

What kind of power are you working with?
