I've decided I'm going to try running only a front stage because i want to see what the hypes about but before i decided this i just bought a jbl gto 74.4 which is rated at 100rmsx4 at 4ohm so i was thinking bridging it and running around 200rms to each speaker. Would this be a little to much fo em? I keep seeing they need at least 150 to really shine but will the extra 50 watts be to much for this budget comp setup? Running a hdc3 off 1600 rms and my substage is dominating my infinitys (rsd are on their way). What do you all think?

Depends on how you treat them.

If you turn it up real loud for any extended period of time you'll cook 'em. Very few components out there that can truly handle that kind of power for long.

Set the gians to 150 a side and go from there. If you feel they can handle more then feed them more. I would be willing to bet 150 a side will be plenty.

Agreed. Set the gains for 2x150w rms. If you are unsure how to do this, there are plenty of great resources to guide you.

wheres the problem, u can always turn the gain down? and better more power and make a reserve then less and clip trying to get the most out of your system
Agreed, as well. Overhead is a good thing.

pg rsd's again..
And I don't see the problem? Nice contributive post, btw. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

hey man just so you know

i got the same amplifier and if you want it to put out the rated power bridged.. hit the switches that turn the channels to mono - dont worry the speakers will stil be in stereo tho..
