$400 for Alpine Processor a good deal?

After going to Tweeter and 2 local shops, I finally got a guy down to $400.

He said if I could wait a couple weeks, since he just did an Alpine order, he would put it in with his next order and would take $400 for it. So far it's the best I've found, and noone near me keeps this product in stock, thus meaning that noone will come down much from MSRP since they have to special order it.

Which processor?

If its the h701 thats not much higher than they sell for on eBay (around $380), which makes that a good deal considering theres no shipping charge, and being a local shop it would be easier to deal with should you have any warranty issues.

yeah, sorry, it's the pxa-h701.

I really don't wanna do e-bay. I'm trying to go authorized with this peice. I've heard some stories of this processor having some noise issues sometimes so I'm staying authorized.

I thought about calling Crutchfield to see if I could talk them down, lol. I think I won't go that far though. Sucks living where there aren't many choices.

What is "b&m"?...never heard that term.

Magick, if you look around you might just find a better price. I told one guy I was calling from an hour away and he told me if I drove up there, he'd do it for $400...this was after the first guy I talked down to $400 so I'm not going to fool with it. But, if he would've done $375, I would've gone.

B&M = Brick and mortar as in an actual shop, not an e-store.

Yea, this price is only about $50 more than the cheapest e-bay price. I'd rather pay the extra $50 for authorized.

Yeah I lucked out when the sales person in the shop use to have a h701 in his aurora . He sold me his h-701 the center channel from alpine and the alpine serius recever with 12 months service on it for 400 bucks for all of it great when you know the people who work at local shops. All the instals I do for people I know but not a best friend I get from there though so am a pretty good cusomer in there eyes. Said usualy sells them for around 500-550 though so yeah good price.
