I know this guy who is sellin a red top optima battery for $40 is this a good deal?? He has had it for about 1 year but never used cause it was to small for his truck-->he has been trickle charging it numorous times to keep it charged.

i had a yellowtop i hated it. stupid thing died quickly. Definitely go for an exide orbital battery it is smaller lighter than the red/yellow's and i prefer it greatly

If it's been sitting on a float charge for a year, go for it.

Just realize that Red Tops are just like regular lead acid batteries; you can't pull a lot of current out of them over a long period of time and expect it to recover.

never buy used
If it's been float charging, it hasn't been "used"...if the guy is telling the truth. Whether that's the case or not, depends on how well this guy knows him //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I know him very well and Ive seen his setup and ive never seen it in his ride. Man the neons battery is SMALL. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
