4 TXX-AP15 vs. 1 18" BTL

To be completely honest, I really just wanna use the amp. I don't wanna sell it kuz all my friends wanna see it in action, and all my friends kinda see me as the "car audio guy of the group" so you know I gotta live up to that title. lol

lol....i work in the middle of the ghetto right now and believe me i know. thank god i dont live there. i dont really see the point, you can't even hear the bass. it basicly sounds like a machine gun shooting off in bursts when they pass.
Oh yeah, cant get over that sound. I mean, my car has a little bit, but not that noticable, but seriously why would you want that. Ghetto Fab FTL

I already have a Visonik v900hc to power them off of running 1500rmsx2 @ 1. But if I get the BTL I will run it at around 2000rmsx2 @ .7
Which do you think will get louder? This is not a spl setup, daily.
love the amp, but I would expect right about 2500watts off of it, I said this in a PM to you before.. rated at 1600x2@ .5ohm stereo, 3200 @1ohm mono @ 17V

g/l w/ install, plenty of pics expected..

how is audiopipe and visonik not ghetto fab? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

How crazy would they sound in 4 sealed boxes made to look like a wall.
I have heard that sealed boxes are the way to go for rock music. Is there any truth behind that?

rating an amp at 17V is not a good sign.

at a normal voltage i would expect it to do less than 2500W at 1ohm bridged (and that's if their rating at 17V is accurate, which i doubt)

if you don't have a decent electrical system (big three and 1/0 all around, probably HO alt and new battery) you're gonna get even less and a lot of dimming.

rating the amp at 17V means nothing other then the fact that it is the rating on the amp at 17V......

2500 is a good GUESS on what it'd do, never seen a benchtest on one though.

BTW 200a of fuses and I've always heard the best way to figure if amp is overrated is to take fuse rating X 12(volt), 200x12=2400. could be wrong.

Strong amp, just have to realize you aren't getting >3kw out of it.

so if you have a solox 18 why not just get a big amp for that and beat everyone using a single sub setup
no kidding //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

HO alt, couple yellowtops, couple runs of 1/0

strap a pair of sundown saz-1500's and you should be getting closer to that sub's rms //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

if you spend a couple grand you could get that sub the power it deserves.

Z1? or 2.

usually when a company selling cheap products rates an amp at 17V it's to mislead customers when they write big numbers on the box.

along with this deception could also come over-rating.

what an amp is fused at has nothing to do with actual current draw or power output.

you can get a decent guess at what it'd do with 14V by taking 3200W/17V=188A

188A*14V = 2600W

i figure with a good electrical he'll get up to that number.

Ok dude, I am not some hot shot with a HUGE bank accout. I don't have a couple grand to spend on amps for that sub. I am thinking of selling it just because I don't think I can afford amps for it. I need to get rid of all the subs sitting in my storage building before I get anything.

That amp puts out loads of power regardless what you say. It may be rated at 2000x2 at .5, but if it puts out 1500x2 that is plenty of power for me to mess with.

in all fairness, if you get the btl your going to have the same issue with the solo x not enough power, im a big fi fan, with the power your talking i'd reccomend a pair of ssd 15's or q 15's, they will put you in the same price range as what your looking for and i think they would be a better option
