4" stock replacement or up to 5.25"??????????

Guys,

I'm in a bit of a bind, need to decide between keeping my next speakers stock 4" or go doctor up a 5.25" bracket....

I wanted to know what I REALLY need... I have 2 12" l7's going in a ported box in my trunk so there is my bass already. now....

I have the 7-speaker set-up, so I have tweeters I'll be replacing also for my highs.

Will 4" speakers do the job just fine? or do you think I will need a more full sound with a 5.25" speaker?

Thanks for any help guys, and if it matters this is in a 99 toyota avalon.

And if anyone has their own model of speakers to reccomend and why please do!!!

4" speakers do not generally get loud. You would definately be better off running a set of components up front, you don't necessarily need a rear setup as long as you are satisfied with your fronts. The rear sound stage is often left out as it is not good for sq. Get a good set of comps up front and you should be set.

The 4" speakears you have are in the dash? If so, I would really recommend you going to a 5 1/4 comp set.

I upgraded from pioneer 4" coaxial to alpine type r 5 1/4 comps of good wattage, and it made a world of difference even with suboptimal speaker placement and crappy brackets. Upgrading the brackets just kept on improving the quality of the new sound you will be able to get.

These speakers are ALL in the doors except for the stock sub on the back deck.

I have 7 speakers total: 2 tweeters, 4 4" door speakers, and the rear-deck woofer.
