my sub is a ma audio 12oxe it is 4 ohm dvc sub it can hold 350 watts rms and the amp that i am looking at buying is a ma audio HK-297 it push's

2 x 150 watts RMS @ 4 ohms

2 x 250 Watt @ 2 ohms

1 x 400 Watts @ 4 ohms mono

so is there any way i can run my sub at 4 ohms i was thinking that i might could run one channel to one vc and the other channel to the second vc so I can pull the hole 400 watts from the amp?

Yes, you can do that. Just be sure to run the same signal (i.e. the Left signal) to both channels. Also, you'll only get 300w doing it that way, not 400w

Go to Radioshack and get a y-splitter, and split the Left RCA to both RCA inputs on the amp.

Because the sub won't perform optimally if it has a different signal going to each voice coil.

your killing me man. You have two jacks comming from your deck, therefore you need to split EACH OF THOSE INTO TWO. Hence the need for two of those four dollar items.

However, it'd be a better idea to get something like this: http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/pshowdetl.cfm?&DID=7&Partnumber=185-278

Doesn't have to be that expensive, just the same style. Radioshack will carry something of similar design. Reason the above style is better then the one you linked to is because you can plug this one in directly to the amp.

Why dont you just wire the sub into a final of 2 ohm. Then use the M1883i amp. Its cheaper than the hk-297 too. It handles 800x1 @ 2ohms. So you have lots of extra power just in chase u ever add a sub or just get another one that is more powerful

that amp is a little more $$$$ plus it would over power my sub by about 450 watts.
