4-ohm stereo VS. 4-ohm bridged

i notice in the following description of this PPI amp (and other amps) that 4-ohm BRIDGED seems to put out more power than 2-ohm STEREO.. what i'm wondering is if there's a possible way to wire the amp in 2-ohms BRIDGED??? and if so, i assume this would give maybe almost twice as much power as 4-ohms BRIDGED??

Stereo, 4 Ohms: 2 x 400 Watts

Stereo, 2 Ohms: 2 x 800 Watts

that amp is not likely stable at 2ohm mono(bridged)- Not many class a/b are, some high end ones are tho

But no, as 3.5max said, you can not wire that amp to 2ohm bridged. It would either 1) Kick into protection, or 2) cause damage to the amplifier.

sometimes amps SAY they are 4ohm stable only when bridged.. but they can be modded to drop to lower impedances.

i doubt you will get a PPI to do that however. i just doubt its going to happen. all PPI amps i know of (back then) were ONLY 4ohm stable when bridged. do NOT try it at 2ohm or it WILL break.

I Know For A Fact That The 2400 Will Not Handle A 2 Ohm Load, Tried It And Failed! Found The Magic Smoke.
