4 GA. on 1500d ?

I was thinking of putting my sundown 1500 in my winter beater for a while.I have a spare 13' 4 ga. power wire that I could use.Instead of handing out more money for 0/1 ga. wire,would the amp be safe if I ran it at 2 ohm's with the 4 ga.wire?

Yes. I ran my 20.1 at full tilt on a single 4g run. About 1800-1900 watts.

Will work fine, I ran 4 gauge, (all I had at the time) on my 1500d when I had it, but I never took the amp below 2 ohm, (had a single D4 15" wired in parallel).

Amp worked perfect off that power wire, and it was old as hell lol.

I would say you should be fine. My younger cousin is running a MTX 81000d @ 3 ohms to a 13w7 and he only used 4 gauge wire.

You should be more then fine with 4 gauge on that amp, especially at 2ohms. Your gonna be looking at 1kw or so, which 4 Gauge should take fine. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif.

what does it put out at 1?

what does your electrical look like. PERSONALLY, 1k+ i would use 1/0. i like overhead room

So long as the power wire is fused right you'll have no issues...not to mention running it at 2ohms, you'll have a very hard time popping a 120amp fuse.

I would say around 1600 @ 1 ohm.It would be on stock electrical,but with a truck alt.

i'd stick with 2 ohms if you only have 4ga

I know... I told him to use 1/0 and he said "I don't feel like running another wire!":wow:

Then he proceeds to drop off a box full of Knukonceptz 1/0 along with some generic 8 and 10 gauge wire to my house
