4-Channel Amp Questions...

I've got a Pioneer P-7300 head unit and four Alpine SPR-60's. My music preference is loud...but i'm pretty sure that I am not on the level that you guys...and gals...are!

The system, the way it is now, is just not anywhere loud enough. My question is...like the title says...what is a good 4-channel amp to get to really make these speakers scream? Or should I go 2-channel and double them up? I don't really know much about car audio, so any help would really be appreciated!

I'm not running a sub because I'm forty and i'm more of a punk ska guy...

well best way to be loud is use hp xover on amp for speakers set them around 100 hz they won't distort and play louder but then u have no bass so u need a sub to replace that.. if your amp is any good at all u could run just front 2 speakers on amp (rears from hu) and bridge channel 3/4 to a sub (amp has to have lp xover on 3/4 channels for the sub) but i guess your amp not that great so what the most $ u could spend to be LOUD? some peeps here have 4 10" mids in their door so loud to u not really the same as to me and to them loud to me is a joke to them (one guy cracked his windshield with his 4 18's 2 weeks ago we saw the video).. sound like u could get buy with 1 2 channel for front speakers and a mono sub amp with like 1 12" sub (i don't have amp on my mids and they sound very good on my kenwood x301)

You need high sensitivity speakers, at least 90db/1m/1w, then you need an amp to match their power, and either a passive or active crossover to filter low freqs from the speakers

If you amp is properly matched to the speakers and the gain is set correctly you will be ble to get the most out of them. Set the gain too much and you might fry the speakers.

The reason its not loud enough is because you're using deckpower which is not 50watts, more like 15 so if I were you id get a low powered amp, say around 50w rms and connect the front to it, but most importantly focus on treating doors and properly mounting the speakers in a way that they are airtight in the door.

Even if you put a ton of power into a half assed install you will be very dissapointed in the quality

Hey Grandpa!

Let me start by saying that you are speaking another language to me!!! I'm guessing that you said high power cross over??? I probably should have thought a little bit more about the people to whom I was typing...when I say loud, I mean I want something that can crank up louder than the stock stereo in my Volvo...which is pretty loud...but i'm sure it's nothing like you are used to! Anywho, I just want to push some power to those Alpines so I can get the loud factor, but have it be clean.

And I just have to know...how old are you? I saw Boomingrandpa and I just have to know!

high pass xover u set it at 80-100hz which keeps bass out of the speakers (because to small speakers real bass is just distortion, thats y on the 8th day god made subwoofers) once speakers don't distort and if u have a real 40-100rms per speaker they'll almost make your ears bleed if u want it that loud (some guys here have 300rms on door speakers) i just have kenwood hu with hp xover and my speakers are plenty loud with 22rms and a 24bit da convertor (better than many, yours hu may have it idk) make sure your hu doesn't have high pass xover.. go to audio settings look for high pass filter or xover set it to 100 hz see if u notice a diff... yes a good 4 channel amp can power all 4 speakers and a sub too if u want, we just usually use mono amps for subs so we get more power for bass.. u can get fair 4 channel for like $170 or so if u just want to power speakers ppi 600.4 is great (1 guy here has 4 2 channels like that) i have the mono version, if u want to get a sub get the 900.4 bridge rear 2 channels to the sub and u can just power front 2 door speakers (power others with hu) with other 2 channels (or run all 4 speakers on 2 channels at 2 ohm stereo u just won't be able to fade front or rear).. tell me which one u want to do and i'll advise

dude your hu is wayy more expensive than mine i'm sure it has xovers.. u want a good deal on 2 amps guy on forum selling 2 soundstreams $240 shipped (maybe get them little cheaper) i think they new or they look like the 1200.1 is basically same amp as mine but has 100rms more than mine.. get those and 4, 2 or 0 ga amp kits u can pay shop $150 maybe to install them thats 2 amps for less than 1, just depends what u want.. u can get nice sundown 4 channel or even 5 channel (any brand about $500) http://www.caraudio.com/forums/amplifier-classifieds/632439-soundstream-tn1-1200d-tn-4-900-a.html if u want just 4 channel this is a nice amp and cheap as h8ll compared to one shop was pushing.. https://www.amazon.com/Sundown-Audio-SAE-100-4-4-Channel-Amplifier/dp/B06Y4DNRWQ/ref=sr_1_6?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1496697336&sr=1-6&keywords=sundown+4+channel+amp if u wanta do a 2nd sub amp later maybe get this plenty of power for speakers and u can get nice sub amp later https://www.amazon.com/SAE-50-4-Sundown-Audio-4-Channel-Amplifier/dp/B00MJG8XR0/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1496698021&sr=1-1&keywords=sundown+4+channel
