4 channel amp for wifey

You expect that amp to power your comps and sub?? Not a chance in hell. Ur looking at 100x2@4ohm to power the comps and that leaves you with a 320if you bridge the last 2 channels. 320watts is not near enough for the shiva. Thats assuming the amp even does rated plus its a a/b so it will **** hella juice.

It will power the comp's fine but we talking about this shiva correct??

If so they recommend 500-1500watts in a 1.5cf sealed box. I would give it no less then 1000watts any less and I feel you will be disappointed.

For under $100 I know of no single amp that can do what your asking for.

P.S I love the shiva's you made a great choice. If I could fit 2 12's in a proper ported box in my trunk I would be sporting these. Truly beastly low end monsters.

I'm just getting into car audio, coming from home audio. I have been running the shiva on 500watts for a year now with no problems, but I emailed Kevin Haskins just to ask his opinion on power before putting it in the car and the last thing he said was "Most of the time failure mode is mechanical (it is beat to death) rather than thermal so any amp from 300W-1000W will work well."

That being said, what would you recommend to run these speakers on a budget and keeping it under 1000watts total?

The website for them states clearly 500-1500 is recommended for a 1.5cf sealed box. Id do my best to feed it the full 1500 but no less then 1000 anything less then that then I would get a different sub.

If you wanna go cheap cheap and still have decent quality then get this as ur 2 channels to run comps - AUDIOPIPE AP-2002 1000W 2 Channel Car Audio Amplifier | eBay

For sub get this - AUDIOPIPE MINI AMP MONO 1000 WATT MOSFET CAR AMPLIFIER | eBay

I never really cared for AP but they are cheap and will do rated so you cant complain. Looking at $200 to your door not gonna find much cheaper that will do rated. Unless you buy used and even then you will have a hard time finding anything else used under $200. Got to pay to play.

What ohm load is your sub, should have asked that before I made a recommendation.

Direct from their site.

Sealed 1.5 Cubic Foot with room model showing in-car

cabin gain. 100% Fill (24oz. Polyfill)

What do you gain with more volume? You pick up more output down low, the larger

the box, the deeper the response. The Shiva-X2 is happy with any combination of 1-2

cubic feet for automotive applications. Fill the box with 100% polyfill (16oz. Per cubic

foot of box) and power it with 500-1500W and you will be rewarded with

incredible high-quality bass.
