4 12's or 2 15's

The point was that 4 12s wont always take up more cubes then 2 15s will. He was saying with 2 15s you will save space, when its not entirly true. It all depends on what subs you go with, since most all subs have different box requirements, but in my case it came out exactly the same. 8 cubes recommended for 2 15s, and 8 cubes for 4 12s. Who said I was suprised that 15s require a bigger box?

Perhaps surprised was a bad word. Im just not following your point. Many 15's require twice the enclosure volume as their 12" counterpart, because they displace approx twice the air. No mystery there. How does that substantiate your claim that four 12's will beat two 15's "hands down"?

You and packerfan are looking at the same answer for two different questions. You were thinking 1 12 vs 1 15 vs 1 18. He was thinking 4 12s vs 2 15s vs 1 18....

I think you two are also agreeing that install is the deciding factor....

I have extensively ran 2 15s vs 4 12s off of 8.8kW. What did I find? They were **** near equal both setups easily exceeding 150 on the tl legal from my SUV's cargo area... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I had 2 9915s off of 4kW 2 yrs ago in street. They got loudest in...

4.4 CUBIC FEET FOR TWO 15s!!!

I run 4 L7 12s now off of 8.8kw....they are loudest in...

6 CUBIC FEET FOR FOUR 12s!!

Mac and my discussion was on like-model subs, just varying the size and its corresponding enclosure volume. But... I think Im just making things more confusing now. lol

I never said that just because 15s use a bigger box, that the 4 12s will be louder! Goldtaz said that going with 2 15s will save space, when its not entirely true. Thats all I was saying. It may save space for some subs, but now all. As far as 4 12s beating 2 15s, in mysetup it did. This is why I said it should win hands down, but I guess in others peoples setups it may vary.

Dude, Nate munson is the only one out of your little group that has less cone than an 18 to my knowledge, (1) 10" driver to be exact right?? Scottie Johnson has (14) MT 12's and is doing 167 and Alma Gates has how many 10's in the Bronco?? I know a guy with (4) MT 18's doing a 166 on the termlab. I guess I'm not understanding the logic in your list.
