4 12's, 4 cubes?

i know it isn't what I SHOULD do... but would 4 12's be alright in a 4 cube box until i can build a new one or am i wasting my time...

what are the "negatives"?

We need some more information, what Subwoofers, Ported or Sealed? I'm assuming you mean sealed. Also how much power are you planning?

sorry, infinity referance 1242's... ported tuned to 30... 1200rms to the 4...

Thats a rather small ported box for the infinitys. They like to see 2 cubes each, but I dont see why it shouldnt work. Will it sound good is another question though. Now if you go with 4 cubes sealed for all of them, then that will be perfect. Thats what I would do if I had a 4 cubic foot box.

i know they should have 2 cubes per, as they do now... but i want to add two more without building a new box... (until summer, i ive in ny and it's too cold to build boxes) just wondering how much of a problem it... plus, they are buy one get one free now..

1 cube each is hella small. plus that would probably change the tuning by adding 2 more subs.

But since they are on sale now you could always buy, store, then build when the weather permits.

Try it, if its peaky, polyfill it. If it's still peaky, pull out a sub or two and just cover the mounting holes.
