4 12'' solo x's vs. mtx jackhammer

Jackhammer does what? 5,000rms? 12" Solo X does 2,500rms x 4 = 10,000rms! Thats twice the power of a Jackhammer. Cone area 4 12"s= 36 Jackhammer= what 23"?(dont remember right now)....Solo Xs will be alot louder.
dud the jackhammer holds 6000 rms and it is 22" and yes for the question ask earlier the solos should be lounder with the right amout of power

They really dont teach math anymore do they?

The cone area of 4 kicker solo x's would be roughly 576 in^2, the jackhammer is roughly 415 in^2 of surface area (assuming it is a 23" diameter).

I have heard solo's they are loud, but no one has heard a jackhammer, and their price as well as ability makes this thread completely pointless. However, I do not think that someone, let alone JeffyZ33 should make comments discounting other members posts, especially when he has no personal experience with either drivers.

I love how you're asking these questions but basically nobody owns the jackhammer besides some noob on pimp my ride that can hit 130some db.And I doubt many if any own 4 12'' Xs.

Good question; ask it again some time.

Wrong..somebody on termpro owns a jackhammer...don't know how far along they are with it but last time I checked they were building a box for it.

key word "basically"

Punisher : I guess not.

Yes, I made a comment that puts down this thread. But, it is in place. I'm sure nobody has heard 4 solo Xs and a Jackhammer, so basically this thread is pointless. Worth a few bad comments? Yes.

Anyone trying to speculate what will be louder is doing only that, speculating. The MTX jackhammer could be some GIANT spl sub that puts out crazy numbers, or it could be some weak sub that isn't capable of 140db in it's best box. Nobody knows, so this thread is pointless, and should be closed.

To answer the question, I personally would go for the 4 12'' Solo X.

And subs do not "do" watts, that is something you would typically refer to as an amplifier. Your Xplod does not "put out" 1600rms.

wow u really calculated that wrong

the cone are of a jackhammer is not 23''.

its 254.5square inches

the cone area for 4 solox 12's is not 36''.

its 427.2square inches..

but being that the xmax on the solo's ar no more than .75inches oneway and the jack has a xmax of 2.5inches oneway...with the rite power and box the jackhammer should **** the 4 solox12's in output...

volume displacment at its best..

this is a idea fantasy for the ages which one do you think will be louder and hit harder 4 12'' solo x's ported or one mtx jackhammer with the right amps going to both
who cares? I do know which would be cheaper and easier - the solo Xs

I agree with your theory, but the problem is volume displacement means nothing in regards to both the install and how loud it will be in your car. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
