4 12 SDCs or 2 15 HDCs (daily)

I'm going to have ~ 9ft^3 after port/sub displacement tuned to ~38hz.

I'm wondering what would be the better option, I will be using an AB500.1 @ .5ohm

Im estimating getting ~ 5000w @ .5 ohm, so which would be the better choice?

There's more cone area w/ the 12's, but from what i've seen on this forum, i don't think they'd like 1250w a piece, so the gain would be turned down a little bit. However, i am assuming since they are less power hungry they should be less efficient as well?

From what i gather, the 2 15" HDC's should be pretty happy on 2500w each, so no problems there.

I'm going with 4 12's in my truck, but you're gonna have to have like dual .5 VC's to get a final load of .5 ohm.

Dual 4's should work, shouldnt they? Each sub wires to 2ohm, Then 2 would then wire to 1 ohm, and then .5ohm when the pairs are wired together. or am i not thinking this right?

I'd prefer (4) 12's any day over (2) 15's. I've never used AQ before so I can't comment on which model to get.

4 12s for sure, I think you would get overall better sound quality out of them, plus it looks cooler.

You guys aren't making my decision any easier to make!!!

So far i'm leaning toward the HDC3 15's, mainly because more people have run the power i want to run on them successfully, and they are cheaper.

yes, i will also have 2 d3100's and am still researching HO alts atm.
