4/0 is half the resistance of 1/0, which means half the voltage loss, and while pulling 300+ amps that can mean .1+ voltsanything larger than 1/0 is stupid.
First, the Big-3 wires are not long enough to have voltage drops. Second, the only way you will see a difference is if you're running a 350+ amp alternator.4/0 is half the resistance of 1/0, which means half the voltage loss, and while pulling 300+ amps that can mean .1+ volts
i have to agree. for the the big 3 thats just a waste of time/money. for power wire it may be needed when you upgrade to two 2500d's.First, the Big-3 wires are not long enough to have voltage drops. Second, the only way you will see a difference is if you're running a 350+ amp alternator.
He's also only running an Orion 2500D. Max draw of 277A at 100% load, 75% efficiency, and 12v.
You're still not going to be drawing that current through your engine or from the alternator...for now, u ever heard of adding on?? so when i add another 2500d i dont have to run multiple runs, easier to just do 1 wire.
no if you would have took the time to read you would have realized i was saying that big of wire for the big 3 was a waste, not the big 3 but you seem to have plenty of time/free wire so w/e.not a waste of money when its free, y should i buy smaller wire when i have all this already? as for time doin it anyways. so your sayin the big 3 is a waste of time?
