several variations of the 3hp exist. the first few (eclipse ti, oz audio POWER elite, etc) have very short topplates. all thej later ones had a taller one most that you will find are taller topplates

So the back plate is different, the top plate is way different...and it's still a 3hp?

there were so many different variations of the 3hp it isnt even funny

What makes each motor each designation? If everything is at will to change. I kind of understand the whole 3" = 3 part like the 4hp=4". But what about the tc9, tc7, etc. Seems assinine.

And yes I understand they were or are an oem company. Which is the reason for the changes but I would think the motor would have a differant name.

Either way, cool I had no idea there were different motors with the same name.

i'll have to get a pic of mine up tommorow. it doesn't look like any of these. its got the flat back plate, and a small top plate, not to mention it has a claw basket.

so are the different plates gonna have an effect on the overall sub? ie. is the 3hp w/ the bigger top plate gonna be louder than the 3hp w/ the smaller plate?
