3G iPhone?

so they are doing away with their iphone specific plans?

i kinda liked those, they bundled voice data and text all together... not like it would matter to me anyways though, i already have voice data and text, was just hoping to save a few bucks with one of the iphone bundles.

Ugh. I hate those bundles. I don't use the internet enough to warrant getting unlimited data.

Maybe I'll grab the Vu then.

the unlimited data is there for a reason. the iphone uses a sophisticated browser much like your home computer. This means that the iphone uses alot of data, and i mean alot of data. if you didnt have an unlimited data plan then plan on paying a crap load for how much data youve used.

i do believe also, the only way to get mms messages with an iphone is by using data and a third party app.

and i also believe there are third party apps that can use data to transmit text messages (i know google makes one for blackberry... well, pretty close to a text service...)

The iphone is not the most sophisticated pda phone out there, everyone just thinks its neat because its an ipod and a phone, Whoop. I personally would never use the iphone i think its tackey and to much of a status symbol. The moto q has more then made me happy for what it is in the end a PHONE.

i don't use the data enough to warrant an UNLIMITED PLAN. I want something with a qwerty keyboard though, and at least on AT&T they are all smart phones.

My blackberry pearl is great, but its 55 bucks for data plan, and thats the only way i can get pictures sent from others

with a blackberry you shouldnt need a data plan to get pics...

that is part of a messaging plan.

If they just changed that lil aspect, or made the plans like 20 bucks like normal data plans id be fine....or even a pay per use

My ATT 8525 already has 3G and is pretty much an all around better phone than the iPhone, but I'm still considering getting one just for the portability factor.

Thats the same phone I had before I got the current iphone. Thats a good phone, but I really didnt use it because I didnt have a data plan at the time. But anway I love my iphone, good shit. I was mad thoug when I seen the 3G iphone, but I shouldve known apple is always good for not showing CURRENT model support. Im not as mad though because the 2.0 update will make my phone have all the features but the 3G speed. And yes I can get the GPS on my phone, but I would have to pay for it.........but oh well. So Im cool, still cant get over the price. thats weird... my blackberry doesnt need the data plan to send or recieve mms messages... just need a messaging plan or pay per use. and skip, ATT does have a pay per use data plan, but you gotta be careful not to rack up a huge bill.
