35 farad capacitor

I know I know, caps are useless.. blah blah. I'm not gonna get a capacitor was just thinking about this. Will a 35 farad cap be any good in a car audio setup? So far all I have read on was negative reviews on the a 1 or 2 farad cap, but how bout a 35 farad one? Im sure you would have to upgrade your electricals first though.

Also, can you use that thing to resuscitate some one back to life if their heart stops??? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

If you find one for cheap, let us know //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
haha, yah man, those things are expensive! Even at the dealer price through stinger those things are butt *** expensive. Even for the 10 farad one!

The cheapest way to get that much capacitance would be to use surplus industrial equipment...very large banks of capacitors are used for plasma generation, electroplating, anything where you need an assload of energy delivered near-instantaneously.

well I guess if you were entering competition for best of show, then those would look pretty cool. If someone were running like 20 amps, then that 35 farad cap would work better than 35, 1 farad caps.. or just save more space???

hahah.. i dunno.. i was just amazed at how much power they can put out. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

From what I've read, those "super-caps" have a significantly higher ESR/ESL than your typical 1 farad capacitor, making them react significantly slower. Now, I'm not a capacitor expert by any means, but I would imagine this would make them less-effective than a 1 farad capacitor, would it not ?
james asking a question?

It may be a question, but it's also a very correct one. =p That's the biggest problem involved with high capacitance is it usually takes longer to discharge. For huge industrial applications, a few milliseconds isn't anything important. It is when the whole purpose of a capacitor is to improve transient response, IE, the "speed" or "punch" of bass.

I've been told, don't quote this unless it's true, that the size of a cap's capacitance, and it's ESR generally are mutually inclusive. One goes up with the other.

With the delays in super caps, you'd be much better off getting a small battery, because it holds more. If my logic is right, 1 farad is right around 1 CCA.

Explain that sentence.
"hahah.. i dunno" what an idiot says a lot //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/silly.gif.3549b64aaa5b6729eb8e865319a3234f.gif

Im amazed that they have 35 farad caps for car audio. Just seems pretty wild to me, especially if someone were to touch the connectors.
