Okay, here's the deal. We have:

300rms@12.5v

4 OR 2 ohm

10 or 12"

50:50 sq/sql

We'd like something that will not be overpowering but will be able to hear it with the windows down. Something that will perform in a sealed box. Accuracy is the goal. Nice and tight. Size doesn't matter as long as it's 12" or less. I can concider two 8's as that's an option. Remember, we have 300w@12.5 (345.6@14.4), 2 and/or 4 ohm.

Anyway, I'd like to toss it up for suggestions. We were concidering these maybe:

Shiva 12D4

IDQ12D2 V.2

IA LI 10

RE SE 12

Price range is looking about $200

What was that one with the elephant on it?

Maybe these and sell one:

man, i just went through this whole thing myself and narrowed it down to the IDQ, Sound Splinter, and Oz Audio Matrix Elite.

in the end, i ended up picking up an Oz Audio ME 12.2" DVC for $225 shipped. SS didn't have a 12.2 DVC, and the Oz seemed like it could handle a little more power than the IDQ since i had about 474 watts @ 4 ohms to play with.

oz is a very good choice. but its at the top end of the spectrum IMO. and the RLi or Atlas will be pefect with 300@4ohms - and they are also very accuarte (from reviews that ive read mutiple times).

atlas is by far the most inexpensive.

id prolly scoop a pair of RI-i 8's just because tho //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Wow, those prices on the Atlas/Avalance are awesome. I might have to pick up an atlas15 just for home use...

soundsplinters site was down a little bit ago //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif but it's bacl up:)

The 10 RL-I is well priced too and sounds pretty good.

Req and Squeek, got any favorites? rli-10 or atlas-12?

Heh....well, I'd go with the Rl-i simply because Mike is a honest, straight forward guy and is one of the greatest people in the industry to deal with. And, well, if you do some searching you'll see my feelings on how AA has handled some things recently.

Performance wise, they'll both sound excellent and get decently loud. The Atlas should have some displacement advantages due to it being a 12" over the Rl-i which is only a 10. Also, the Rl-i is just a straight TC Sounds TC2+. So, if you want more reviews on the Rl-i just do some searching on different forums for the "TC2+".

Both give you excellent performance for the price.

Crazy stuff, all of a sudden everyone discovered the Oz ME... nice choice, the 12 is a monster.

I'm happy to see more people try it... its such a **** good sub for the money

sounds good. +Pr is always a plus. I'm also liking the plain styling but that's last on the list.

10 is fine for right now, my 15 barely moves. You can hear it perfectly but for the most part, it's turned way way down getting maybe 700-800 actual rms @ normal windows-closed listening volumes.

I think SS has another customer, soon.
