Still rediculously heavy for a 'sports car.'
I had one.

Handled like a battletank.

Doesn't handle impacts as well as a battletank, though.

I just always wanted one since i played GT or GT2. And while they were very heavy for their day... i'd imagine they're average or even fair now days. Either way they were epically awesome for their time.

whats your price range? if you can't find the 3000gt vr4 look for the dodge stealth vr4.. they have been twin turboed now if i remember correctly.. which in those little cars is amazingly fast.. we have a local 3000gt going for 3..

I had a 93 non turbo 5 speed for several years.
I loved the car, it hated me. Bought it at 125k or so, supposed to have been just after major service done.(timing belt) Drove good for a bit over a year, then I heard a tick in second gear. went to a local shop, pulled ******, busted tooth on 2nd gear, need new gear. 6 weeks later part is shipped from Japan, get ****** put back togethor. Drive it 3 days, and the timing belt tensioner went, jumped 9 teeth on the timing belt, popped all valves. Rebuilt engine put in it, 4 weeks later I get teh car back, throwing CEL;s New computer, 3 months later it goes.

finally sell the car after 4 months of dealing with it dying in the middle of a drive, towed a couple times, etc.

Great cars, maintenance HAS to be done.

Torque steers like a mother. Crappy factory paint. Blast to drive.

Midrange power is awesome on the VR-4. It leaves some top end rev-out to be desired though.

i remember killing a few non-turbos in my n/a 89 rx7 way back and i was only a mid 14sec 1/4 in that

arent they rear wheel drive too or do they just look like they should be? if so good luck driving that thing in winter

my buddy used to have one and i think it sat in the shop more then i ever saw it on the road. it seemed just as he'd get one thing fixed some else would go out. and then a just heard the motor finally went on him. and yes it was slow i could take it in my integra and it's completly stock

Man really do your homework, and heed what these men who have owned one say. These cars are maintanance horses. Even if it is clean and drives good it is still a 15-16 year old car. They are a blast to drive (the TT atleast). There are plenty of parts out there for them check out 3si.org and 3sx.com. They are front wheel drive as far as the n/a's go. So if your gonna go with a N/A go for the looks not the speed. If you do get it I hope you enjoy it. But I will warn you that it likes to eat parts and money.

The VR4's were all AWD and would have no problem handing a na rx7 its ***.

A guy i work with has a red 3000GT VR-4 tht put down 611whp and is running low 11 sec 1/4 mile times.

Prolli the single fastest car ive ever been in to 80mph.
