3000 wRMS within 1G

The collusus sounds nice, just to clarify it will run my 2 1500 rms subs(factory maxed out at 3000 W but i doubt it) and not underpower them because i herd underpowering subs is definately something you dont wanna do for them to last long!!

.....On 16 volts I was getting a lil less than 2000 out of each amp at 1.9ohms after rise, .7 nominal.
2kw @ 1.9 on 16v... I'd say it'll do 3kw @ 1.... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Uh oh //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif You went from getting a 3000w system to not knowing wtf you are talking about real quick. That is some serious power I suggest you make sure you are comfortable with what you are doing before you start this project.

are you guys saying that overpowering a sub will make it fry faster than underpowering?

no, lemans got a wild hair up his *** one day and decided that underpowering a sub will blow it.... whats even more fuked up is some one believed him... whats this world coming to??

lemans=jackass

believe lemans=bigger jackass

so to sum it up...

pile of dog shit > lemans

**i mean bullshiit**

(i knew it was one of them aMinAls)

woww **** haters, was just throwing out some info i had gotten and u nail me for it lmfao, now i kno more then one side of the story hance why i askedd, but FYI i aint a pro or certified to do anything with an instal but i do kno people in higher places that do professional instals that will put everything in for free for me, im just trying to gain some knowledge before i make my hudge investment, u kno whut im saying.

trust me i wouldnt even consider doin this my self

so the collusus is good then, there was a sweet deal on ebay maybe its still goin on ill check it out

ok think about it, underpowering a sub is worse than over powering in most cases, unless you're giving a 300rms sub 3000rms, anyway think about it this way

you have a 2000rms sub, you only have 1000rms for it, which means most are more prone to actually turn the gain up to compensate for the lack of power to achieve the sound they want, which in terms sends the amp into chippind due to it trying to put out more power, still fallowing me? well we all know that a clipped signal is horrible for the sub and the amp, causein the sub to play square lines which causes the sub to ultamitly blow. now if you have a 2000rms sub and you give it say 2800rms, you have to keep the gains low and it will send out the right type of sine wave, one that ISNT squared, correct? so tell me what is gunna be worse, an amp thats putting out a square wave or one thats putting out a reg sound wave.

now tell me how is overpowering a sub worse than underpowering it?

To beat the competition, you have to think "Big", but most of all you have to go "Nuclear". Soundstream engineers designed the XXX-6500D amplifier to produce 6,500 bone-crushing watts in one heatsink. If 6,500 watts aren't enough, strap 2 of the XXX-6500D together on a 2-ohom load and blow away the competition with 13,000 watts of mind melting power.

We have been working on this Top Secret project for the past 2 1/2 years to bring you the most advanced and powerful class "D" amplifier in the world. Can you handle the power?

Feature XXX-5000D

OUTPUT POWER: RMS/Chan @ 4 Ohms (Watts) 3400

RMS/Chan @ 2 Ohms (Watts) 4800

RMS Bridged @ 4 Ohms (Watts) 6500

T.H.D:. 1.0%

DAMPING FACTOR: >350

FREQUENCY RESPONSE(Hz): 5-250

INPUT SENSITIVITY: 0.5-10 Volts

CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE ELECTRONIC CROSSOVERS: LOW-PASS SLOPE 24dB

S/N RATIO: >80dB

LOW-PASS FREQUENCY (HZ): 40-160

SUBSONIC FILTER SLOPE: 18dB

SUBWOOFER EQ @ 45Hz: 0-18dB
