3 Way Speakers

3-way speakers are used to play music...and to try to impress.

Some companies value bling more than bang. So they try to see how many drivers they can cram into one coaxial speaker. This ranges from 3 to even 5 drivers. I don't remember seeing 6, but I'm sure someone has tried it.

You only need 2. A well made 2-way coaxial speaker will blow away any 4 or 5 way costing the same price. That is because the company used their time researching the drivers and creating proper crossovers and such instead of engineering as many drivers into the speaker as possible.

But that is just my opinion.

3 ways are pretty bad. Supertweeters (what most three ways add) don't do anything except sound bad.

SOme good 2 ways that you could get for cheap would be the:

The New Alpine Type-R 07

Pioneer Rev (yellow cone)

Boston acoustics sx65

all of them are pretty cheap and sound pretty good. But if you really want it to sound very good you should consider components.
