3 way or good components for fronstage?

3 way in the manner you are talking are components. So your question is 2 way or 3 way. IMO, a 3 way set up properly with a small format mid and tweet in the a pillar is about as good as it gets. But it takes some know how to get them to blend spacialy as you can have the drivers closest to you over power the ones furthest away very easy.

budget? and running passive or active?
passive.

not too cheap but not too expensive. i know 3 ways are more expensive. i want something with good sq and decent output. my current diamonds only do 60 watts a side.

yeah you're right. i fixed that. midrange/tweet in A pillar and midbass in doors is what i meant.

mid/tweet in pillar should give awesome sound, which is why i want to try. but i still need to fabricate A pillars for this set up. plus im not too knowledge in sound staging quite yet. so i have to learn. idk if i should just make things easier for myself and do a basic 2 way or if i should take the extra work and do 3 way.
