3 seperate boxes?

ok, so i was wondering if it would be a bad thing to run 3 serperate boxes for 3 subs...becuase i know the bocx i have now has wood seperating the subs from each other...so wouldent it be the same thing as running 3 seperate boxes? i need to save alot of room in my trunk and i had 1 of those subs running in a single box, so would it be a bad thing to have 3 of them running in 3 seperate boxes? all the same size...

I actually did this once. There is a nice little thing about running 3 separate boxes, you can adjust how they are placed to get the loudest you can. I had 2 firing back, and one (the middle) firing up, and it was a lot louder (to the ear) running the subs like that. I don't know if there was any increase or decrease in loudness to a mic or anything.
