(3) 12's or (2) 15's???

I am looking to run either the three 12's or two 15's from RE Audio's SE line-up. I listen to all different types of music, but mainly hip-hop and rap though. The subs will be in a sealed enclosure as I only have about 4.5 internal cu.ft. to work with. However, for my specific situation, the only way I can run the 15's is to do a down-firing box, however, I could run the 12's facing up or down-firing. This will be installed behind the third row seat in a Dodge Durango (SUV). I will be running somewhere between 1500-2500 watts RMS; however, I have not yet ordered the amp, so final impedance isn't a big concern just yet.

Any advice on which set up would be better? Up-firing or down-firing? And (3) 12's or (2) 15's???? this is going to be very close. 15's have better lows and the 12's will take more power. i would say 2 15's. do the box subs up and port back.

15s have a tad bit more cone area and will be cheaper....I vote 2 15s

and usually subs up port back work best for SUVs......

Thanks for all the replies guyseace: I think I will be ordering the 15's tomorrow. BTW, some people discussed port placement and mounting the subs up top, unfortuneately neither of these are an option as I am mounting behind the 3rd seat and have very limited space. I am going to mount them facing the back of the car in a sealed enclosure, so hopefully that will sound alright.
