I'm trying to use something different. I really am but I'm weighing everything. I'm not going to do this twice.

I've considered this since the word dropped.
I know you don't like DD. but what makes that better?

Besides the cost that don't matter. I'll pay a bit more for local support, custom, made in the U.S.

So what else sets it apart?

U said u wanted something different, so I showed u acouple woofers and then u say nothing is better then DD pretty much by saying what can that woofer do that the DD can't. There really isn't anyway to talk to you without u riding DD nuts with a death grip

What makes a dd 3512 better then it? Nothing other then having a DD logo on it.

Why do you say that? Real world not just opinion.

You say the mag sounds good, have you heard one? Would you know what to listen for?

Yes a local guy had two old mag 12s in a ported box on Craigslist a few months ago. I went and got a demo and they sounded so clean and had a great bandwidth. Deff some sick woofers for $200 a pop

How will you ever know if you don't try something besides DD? I know the forums aren't the end all of everything,but when a bunch of the respected guys say a woofer is great, you can most likely bet on it being what they say it is. You don't see these guys riding kicker or anyone elses nuts unless they have something good. They aren't just saying it to say it. I've never read anyone saying anything negative about SI's sub's or company in general.

Btw, I had an Obsidian Audio sub that was made by them and was supposed to be on par with the Mags and was the best sub I've owned or heard in real life. Not that I've heard everything...but it was a **** nice sub.

I've had many subs before I tried DD. so far they have not let me down

And yes most of the time people like something because it's popular at that time. Most of the time the stuff isn't that good. But they feel cool since they use the boner. Sad really but that's the way it is.

As for Si. They have a bad habit about shutting down and starting back up.

I'm looking at the HST more. I'm waiting to talk to nick about how it acts ported. If it's got the same characteristics as the Zv4 I don't want it. Cool and all but just not what I'm looking for.

I might end up doing the mag. If I don't like it, or it's over hyped I'm not out much.

Nick replied to my diyma post about the HST and Mag.

HST is sealed only, not feeling that unless it can go into 1.5 cubes and not fall apart. Waiting for a reply on that

Mag won't work in over 1.5. In my head that means the soft parts are weak.

Not a bad idea but I don't have that much room. It did cross my mind

It only needs .6cubes sealed so a 2.5:1 ratio wouldnt be very large

then why three 12s? lol i had three (old school black) jl w6 on a punch 800 (like 1145w) and it slammed and sounded good doing it...
