**** they were hitting so low too..guess too much excursion is a bad thing

 
That same shit happened to my Eclipse Titanium subs, those foam-based surround seems to crack over time no matter what.

I used liquid electrical tape to repair mine and it worked, but you need to look for recone options pretty soon. Those w7s got beat up haha.

 
yea their foam surround blows ****.i had a 13w7 do the same thing..thought it was a fluke..but i wasnt really overpowering the 13 like i am the 10s..**** they hit low

Just letting you know that blowing a subwoofer that you want to recone isn't the best idea, the debris from the frayed coil or coil scraping against the magnet can get lodged in the magnetic gap and if you can't get it out then the sub is ruined forever.
