3-10's OR 2-12's

10w6v2 effective piston area = 51.4 in^3, multiply that by 3 = 154.2 in^3

12w6v2 effective piston area = 77.8 in^3, multiply that by 2 = 155.6 in^3

So the 12's edge out the 10's in surface area & Xmax. So if both were given the same power, the 12's would be louder.

I don't want to open a can of worms & tell you how the 12's will have better SQ. But it seems rather simple to me, IMO the 12's will sound better & get louder (given the same power). Not to mention the funky Ohm load you'll get running 3 of those subs.
