3 10's or 2 12's

Hey guys, the box in the back of my 4-Runner is huge although it hits really really hard. It was made for 2 12 inch RF T1's. Do you think 3 10's Crossfire BMF would hit harder than the 2 12's? A very very knowledgeable installer at a shop said that the bass would hit much harder while the box would be sealed. sure, more cone area would mean it would move more air, but depending on power, box, and your car some setups will sound better than others even if you have the same setup. and sealed would have a better all around bass response, sound a lil tighter, but less output... it also depends on if the subs were designed for a more sealed or vented environment.

I have a Atomic AT 1500D (monster amp) that I bought from Atomic that would push the 3 10's. The woofers are 3 10 inch Crossfire BMF series woofers. I would get 3 dual 2 ohm woofers so I could bridge them down to 1.34 ohms.

I have personally been running 3 10's for the last 18 years, and always had great sound & freq response from them

Would 3 10's in a sealed enclosure work better? Would they hit like 2 15's? I would not necessarily have to buy the Crossfire BMF's. I could go with 3 10 inch RE's.

dont be disappointed if the 3 10s isnt louder. i wouldnt go sealed. but id still take 3 10's over 2 12's anyday. if ur going to do it stay ported.

Loud is good but I want hard hitting bass that shakes everything in the truck and doesn't take up a lot of space.

I went to the shop and ordered the box to be made for the 3 10's should be ready tomorrow. It will be less weight on my truck and the bass hopefully will be harder. I will use my Atomic AT1500.1D

Just got the 3 10's hooked up and all I have to say is I never knew that 3 10's can sound so good in a sealed box. I was like god ****, 3 10's sound like 2 15's especially running off of my Atomic AT1500.1D amp. Less space and more bass. I am completely stunned.
