3 10's or 2 12's

The XXX in the right ported box will blow away 4 XTR 10s (I have had that too), and ANY 2 12s that are sealed.

dude, take my advice closely. ive owned the 15 xxx, 3 jl12w3's, and 3 infinity perfect 10's.....

the xxx in the right box WILL undoubtably smoke the others....do 4 subs @ 28Hz. and call it a day. i promise you with that power (and itll take up to 1800 in this box), you WILL be shocked at how loud and looooooow it gets. the xxx isnt shit sealed. its made to be ported

and the SQ was the same from sealed to ported, exept ported it gets hella loud. stick with the xxx man, trust me

it took an mtx 1501d @ 1 ohm clippd horribley to kill off my xxx, and even then it hd a faulty voice coil from a friends box it was in that ****ed it up. definitly get more power. 1500 daily would be fine for he xxx. itll do 1800w daily if you're careful and dont cip ur amp. if naything try to get ahold of a more power amp from a friend an hook it up just to see how it sounds. with that snail shell you should be fine with more power //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The Orions are crap for accuracy and dont like a sealed box at all.

Three subs are just as easy to wire as 2, but what isn't as easy is finding the right amp to get the power you want into the odd impedance load that the 3 subs leave you with. This was where the 6 ohm DVC and the 3 ohm SVC JL subs came from. Makes wiring 3 subs into a usable load really simple.

If you are so hell bent on replacing a great sub with several that are inferior, at great cost, money must not be an issue so send the XXX 15 to me.

There are 2 12'' DD9512 for 800 shipped in the classifieds.

Id buy those and sell yuor amp and save up a few hundred and buy a kx2500.1 for 500, then youd be banging.

Thanks for all the responses. I just bought an Orion 2500D pretty cheap that im going to strap on to the XXX and see what happens. I'll be conservative especially to start off with the gains and see how i like it. that way i can switch to 2 12's if im not thrilled with it. Better to do this like you guys suggest than to a complete makeover at this point.

Im not rich or anything. I was just trying to see if i could upgrade a little bit and i will be selling whatever equipment i dont use after im done experimenting. Also, 2 12's would give me a better box fittment for my particular trunk then the box i have in it at this point. I think that the sub sits a little too close to the trunk lid right now than it probably should.
