3-10 w6v2's hit 156db?

There's this guy that trash talks my brothers stereo because he says he hit a 156db. I told my brother that was probably on the old termlab,maybe..

It's in a '02 Stratus r/t trunk facing the taillights. Enclosure is ported about 5-6 cu. ft. tuned to 35 hz. No sound dampening material.

So 3-10w6v2's ported running off a jl 1000.

He says he keeps cracking his front windshield due to the system.

Is this possible to hit a 156db on new termlab and crack the windshield?

Well 156db I would expect to be freaking loud and this is his daily driver.. When does the destruction of hearing occur with db's?

He has the car for a little while then puts the system in it and boom....cracked windshield!

I'm thinking maybe his mirror falls off and it cracks(I've seen that happen before)

Box is prefab, bought from a car audio store. But they make them in bulk, some guy out of kentucky makes them.

depends on the frequencies involved...with audio like what we're talking about, anything over 140 sustained over a long period of time wouldn't be too good.

W6's aren't even hardcore SPL drivers. Some 4 18" Memphis Mojo setups dont even get that loud.

i saw a 97 mitsu eclipse back in 2000 hit 155db with 3 jl10w3's in a ported box with an autotek amp, not saying this kid hits it or cracked his windshield, but this guy was a pro and i saw the readings myself...155.sumthin lol, pretty sweet

Well he definitely needs to mess with his amp because the bass is boomy sounding,if that makes since. It's just not a solid,punchy bass. Maybe the freq. aren't set right on the amp.

How would you think 3-alpine type r 10's would hold up to his system running off around 1300 watts rms. So about 433 wrms running to each, in exact same box, but in a beretta instead of a stratus?
